ADDICTIVE TV BIOGRAPHY
Playing festivals, clubs and events all over the planet, from Japan to Brazil, Sweden to Saudi Arabia, the dynamic duo have blown away audiences in over 50 countries now. On numerous main stages, they've supported the likes the Chemical Brothers, Goldfrapp and former Kraftwerk star Karl Bartos. Moby described them as 'a tough act to follow' when they supported him at the opening event of SXSW 2008 in Austin, Texas. Reviewing that show, US music magazine Paste said "Addictive TV completely blew my mind! ...a compelling pop culture audio/visual avalanche!"
In 2006 Addictive TV became the first group to officially remix a Hollywood movie, creating the award winning internet viral for major US studio New Line Cinema, remixing the Antonio Banderas film Take The Lead. They’ve since remixed a number of major studio releases for New Line, 20th Century Fox, Paramount Pictures and Universal; including Samuel L Jackson's cult actioner Snakes On a Plane, blockbusters Iron Man, Fast & Furious, Max Payne and the multi-Oscar winning Slumdog Millionaire from director Danny Boyle.
In recognition of their audiovisual work, in recent years Addictive TV have twice been crowned #1 VJs in the World by the readers of DJ Magazine, and twice placed second in their annual poll of visual artists. And in 2008, the guys reached new heights when they remixed the Beijing Olympics live for Austrian broadcaster ORF, as part of a major IOC sanctioned EU project exploring new forms of broadcast television. Addictive TV also created the ‘Sportive’ video installation for the Adidas "Sport in Art" exhibition which toured seven cities across China in the run-up to the Beijing Games. Business Week said of the piece said ‘It’s a really mesmerizing film and a wonderful use of digital technology to create something that’s beautiful and compelling on many levels.’ In 2009, as well as the alternative trailers for Slumdog Millionaire and Vin Diesel's Fast & Furious, Addictive TV also created the official launch commercial for The Sims3 for computer games publisher Electronic Arts, remixed football idents for the UK broadcaster FIVE for their Europa Leauge coverage, and the opening video for the Red Bull X-Fighters World Final in London.
"More creativity than the entire Top 40 combined, - LITTLE WHITE LIES MAGAZINE
"Light years beyond the gallery realm of masters like Bill Viola, this British collective’s collages do more than question typical art concepts. Melding elements of graphic design with a sound designer's sensibility and a taste for eye-catching celluloid booty, these mixmasters and musicians create something otherworldly and all-encompassing from behind their Kraftwerk-style wall of synth-and-video-modules." - XLR8R MAGAZINE
