THE FILM REMIX PROJECT
Following packed-out screenings at festivals across Europe & most recently the Pompidou Centre in Paris, Addictive TV screen The Film Remix Project in the UK for the first time.
Addictive TV commissioned some of the world's leading audiovisual artists and visual remixers, including Exceeda, The Light Surgeons, The Noodles Foundation and Bauhouse to create ten-minute remixes of classic films and cult B-movies including: Night of The Living Dead, FW Murnau's Nosferatu, Kurosawa's Seven Samurai, the Cary Grant & Audrey Hepburn vehicle Charade and 70s kung fu imitation Bruce Lee flick Bruce Li the Invincible. Cut, spliced and audiovisually sampled-to-the-max; defibrillators have been taken to the heart of each film and with a jumpstart, new life has been breathed into the collection of old movies.
The screening will be followed by Q&A with some of the artists. Tickets: 8 pounds and it all happens at: 9:30 - 11pm : Thursday 7th October UGC Shaftesbury Avenue (in the Trocadero) London, W1. |

VILLETTE EMERGENCES - Paris |
1 / 10 / 04
|
Dans l'Oeil du Pilote [ The Eye of the Pilot ] is the new live performance project from Addictive TV, featuring French guitarist Alejandro de Valera. Taking the form of an aerial travelogue, the project remixes the incredible 8mm colour archive of French airline pilot Raymond Lamy, filmed during his travels in the 1950's; footage of Karachi, Ivory Coast, Saigon, Tahiti and the US, all from a time when travelling with a movie camera wasn't common place.
Dans l'Oeil du Pilote gives a rare glimpse into the beginnings of a world that we all now take for granted - the modern era where constant image gathering and international travel are the norm. The images, taken from Lamy's private archive, are seen here for the first time and give a rare portrait of travelling during the tail end of colonial times.
